In December 2015 I took part in a 24 hour live brief with Arts University Bournemouth and Larmer Tree Festival. We were challenged to design a way to celebrate their refreshed branding and promote the festival.
Working in teams, we came up with a variety of ideas and pitched them to Larmer Tree Festival organisers. Our idea was simple. Design a beautiful newspaper that contains articles and line-ups for the festival that will be distributed prior to the festival promoting it. There will then be an on-site newspaper updating the festival-goers with news from around the festival. To make the newspaper different we thought of making it possible to turn it into an origami peacock when the reader had finished with it. Peacocks are roaming around the gardens of the festival so it makes a perfect link! We then produced a GIF to bring the instructions to life which was used on the festival's social media page.
After pitching to industry professionals and winning the competition allowing us to bring our idea to life was an excellent experience. Find out more about the AUB24 competition here.
