This was a collaborative project with Benji Borst. We were briefed to create a 25 second animation for a research area of our choice. Sneakers are something were both interested in and are shocked at how much some people were willing to spend on a pair.
We created a concept for a documentary series called Sneakerheads for Channel 4, for the young adults market. We asked some sneaker fans/collectors to film a short video of themselves answering some questions and showing us their sneaker collections. These videos can be viewed here. We decided to produce a stop-motion animation of a sneaker building itself, to do this we deconstructed a trainer and reversed
This project enabled me to explore sequence and stop-frame animation.
I learnt how important storyboarding is as we often changed frames after experimenting with different sneakers.
